Scene 1
The soft clink of water droplets echoed in the massive, luxurious bathroom as Rajveer emerged, fresh from the shower, the steam trailing behind him. His steps were slow, his thoughts unreadable, a towel loosely draped over his shoulders. As he entered the room, his eyes fell on Maya, who sat on the bed like a statue, her back straight, her hands fidgeting in her lap.
She didn’t look at him as she spoke.
"I need to say something," she murmured, her voice quiet but firm.
Rajveer halted in his tracks. “Go on.”
She turned to face him then, her eyes glassy but determined. “I don’t want a relationship. Not now. Not ever. I married you because I had to. But please don’t expect love or… or anything beyond this.”
The words hung in the air between them, sharp as knives.
He stared at her for a long moment, then nodded once. “I won’t force anything. Ever.”
She exhaled shakily, as though bracing herself. “Thank you.”

Scene 2
Inside the room, Rajveer walked to the edge of the bed and sat down, running his fingers through his damp hair. He leaned forward, elbows on his knees, staring at the floor as if trying to process what had just happened.
Maya stood in front of her wardrobe, fingers brushing against her dry clothes. She didn’t look at him. She couldn’t.
“I’ll change,” she said quietly, her voice softer than usual.
Rajveer simply nodded, eyes still averted.
Maya made her way to the bathroom and just like that her foot got entangled with her damp saree and her clothes fell.
"Shit."
She bent forward instinctively to pick it up, not realizing the neckline of her blouse dipped dangerously low with the movement.
Rajveer's eyes flicked upward. Just a glance. But it was enough.
And then, his voice, low and husky—gravel dipped in silk—broke the silence like lightning shattering a quiet sky.
“Mere samne pallu sambhal kar jhuka karo Maya… tumhe lekar neeyat kharab hai meri.”
Maya froze.
She slowly looked at him, heart racing, blood rushing to her cheeks. Their eyes met. For a moment, the room was filled with nothing but the sound of her heartbeat and the ghost of his words.
Her lips parted, but no words came out.
Rajveer stood now, walking toward her, each step deliberate, almost cautious. He didn’t touch her, but he came close—close enough that she could feel the warmth of him, smell the faint scent of rain and cologne clinging to his shirt.
“I mean it,” he said, softer now. “I’m trying really hard to keep the promise you made me make… about not crossing lines. But you make it difficult, Maya.”
"Tum jab zara sa bhi jhukti ho na… meri nazar tum par rukti nahi, bhatak jaati hai… aur neeyat toh kab ki bigad chuki hai."
Her hands fumbled with the saree as she looked away. “It was an accident…”
“I know,” he murmured, gaze still locked on her face. “But accidents like that could start wars… or relationships.”
She let out a shaky breath and finally managed to grabbed her clothes.
“You're impossible,” she whispered.
"Ek baar aur aise jhuki na… toh is baar sirf aankhon se nahi, haathon se bhi neeyat dikh jaayegi." Rajveer whispered near her ear making her breath hitch.
"Now go and change, Maya." Rajveer said backing away and soon Maya ran towards the bathroom.
Rajveer smiled faintly to himself and sat back down.

Scene 3
Her going for her Pag Phera
Rajveer, who had been quietly watching her as she prepared, let out a soft sigh. “Is it really compulsory?” he asked, his voice tinged with a playful yet possessive undertone. He was clearly not thrilled about the idea of being apart from her, even for a single day.
Maya turned to face him, a soft smile playing on her lips. “It’s tradition, Veer,” she replied softly, “But don’t worry, I’ll be back before you know it.”
Rajveer's lips quirked into a frown. “I don’t like it.”
Maya stepped closer, brushing her fingers against his arm gently, her touch tender yet reassuring. “I’ll miss you too, you know,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. “But it’s just one day. I promise.”
Rajveer met her eyes, his expression softening, though the reluctance was still evident in his gaze. “I don’t want to be apart from you.”
Maya reached up and cupped his face, her touch gentle but firm, forcing him to meet her eyes. “I know, but sometimes we need to honor these traditions. We can always talk later.”
Rajveer grunted softly, then, without warning, he leaned down, capturing her lips in a soft, lingering kiss. The kiss was full of quiet longing, a mix of affection and reluctance. When they finally pulled away, Rajveer rested his forehead against hers, his voice almost a whisper. “You better call me every hour,” he said, a teasing smile on his lips.
Maya chuckled softly, rolling her eyes. “I will. I’ll call you every hour, alright?”
Rajveer's expression brightened instantly, but then, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, he raised an eyebrow. “Make it five times in an hour. I’ll need to hear your voice more often.”
Maya raised her eyebrows in surprise, her face flushing slightly. “Five times in an hour? What are you, a child?”
Rajveer smirked, clearly unbothered by her teasing. “I want to hear you say my name. Five times, Maya. That’s the deal.”
Maya laughed, shaking her head at his shamelessness. “You’re impossible.”
“I know,” he said, his voice dripping with playful confidence. “But you love it.”
